Mike's partner spread and Development

I began by creating a logo name for Mike which could be placed as a vocal point for my double page spread, I have used a pattern as one of the things mike said he liked was patterns. I have also used a duck egg Blue as my background as that is Mike's favourite colour.

After experimenting with colours and designs I gathered some photo's of skateboarding, I have kept the photo's in black and white as I didn't want to the spread to look too overdone and busy. Originally I was going to use Black but it looked to harsh and so I settled for Grey. I have kept the colours simple and only  three colours were used excluding white.

I have added these patterns to the sides on the double spread, they were inspired by skateboard design which I found when I was researching.

Here is the final spread once it was completed I added the red as I thought it looked a bit boring before. all the information which i gathered about Mike is within and I think it shows Parts of his personality.

Final Poster Designs

Here are my final poster designs,I have done three in total and they are all pretty similar to the designs of the actually stamps exempt they all have information on them about the individual issues. If I were to do them again I think I would link it to a web site or campaign which had more information about what the public can do to help the environment.

Stamp Boards

Here are my final design boards which were required for the RSA stamp brief, I have included concept and research on one board, development and finally outcomes on another. I tried to theme my boards so they looked like giant stamps,  just so they fit in with the brief.

Experimentation leading to Final Designs

I traces the shape of the Uk to produce my waste overflow stamp, I then filled the shape with a patterns of Can lids which helps encourage people to recycle more.

This was the shape I used to trace the queens head from, after looking at several different ones I decided that this one would work as it was simple in design and easily recognisable.

I used simple shapes to create these lorries and vans, I simply just added shapes together of illustrator and then changed the colours, overall i am pretty pleased with the overall look of the designs.

I wanted to use simple colours which would complicate the design, so i went with slightly off Pastel shades.

Below is the cover in which my stamps will be placed, it has two folds instead of one and so wraps around the stamps rather than opening on to them. I wanted to keep the colour scheme together and so used the same blues as i did in the stamp set. I have also added a bar code and royal mail logo.

I wanted to produce a poster to go with my stamp set and so i started to experiment with styles and information layout, however i decided that i didn't like this one as I Think it looks too simple in design and too similar to the stamps themselves. It isn't interesting enough and doesn't intrigue the audience. so i decided to keep experimenting.

Skateboards

After doing some research on skateboards and patterns and designs used in in skate imagery I wanted to try and design my own board, with a pattern which I could maybe use on the background of Mikey's double page spread, he really likes to skateboard and so I thought that it would be appropriate to research into it.

Stamp experimentation

Below are some of the design ideas which i came up with for my stamps, I wanted to make them colourful and exciting to look at as well as based on a serious matter, which is that of Global environmental issues. the stamps will be to raise awareness amongst the public, making them think what they could do to help their own environment for future generations.

Below are my final designs for my stamps, as well as designs for my posters and a case which my stamps will fit into.
